A slow moving cold front is moving towards our Region. Showers & storms will continue to form out ahead of it. So, stay weather aware because of the slight risk of severe weather thru Monday morning. Rainfall estimates could reach up to an inch in some areas.  Rain chances go down rapidly after lunch time on Monday.

Regardless of clouds & rain, temps are still expected to reach around 70 degrees as the warm/moist air continues to surge in from the Gulf.  However, the front will cross our area by Monday evening...and slightly cooler air will settle over us in its wake.  I say only "slightly" cooler because the source region of the air will not come out of Canada...but more from the West Coast.  So, highs on Tuesday should be able to reach the mid-upper 60s (which is still above average)...after starting the day with 40s.

There will be a stronger cold front that moves thru on Thursday morning.  It'll bring rain, but it'll also bring a COLD dose of Canadian air to the Gulf Coast.  Temperatures will drop into the 50s for highs behind this front...with very cold mornings for Friday & Saturday (into the lower 30s & upper 20s).
So, if you're waiting for cold air...it's coming:-)

Take care,
Meteorologist Deitra Tate
